Introduction to Lamisil

Lamisil (terbinafine) is a widely used antifungal medication, particularly useful in treating fungal infections of the skin, nails, and scalp. It belongs to the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics, and is known for its broad-spectrum efficacy. The mechanism of action of terbinafine involves inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial DNA by the enzyme guanosine diphosphate-ribosylguanosine triphosphatase (GPT).

It has been suggested that terbinafine exerts its antifungal action through inhibition of fungal cell wall synthesis. This action is primarily mediated by the enzyme guanine-guanine (GTP)-ribosyl-transferase, which catalyzes the chain reaction between the deoxyribose monophosphate and the guanosine monophosphate in the presence of enzyme-linked SDS-PAGE. The enzyme-linked SDS-PAGE is commonly used for the study of S-adenosyl-l-methionine (Adoxa) and S-adenosyl-l-t4,5-dihydro-2-nitro-benzyl alcohol (Adoxa-TB) in biological fluids, and has been demonstrated to be effective for the treatment of dermatophyte infections (such as athlete’s foot) and systemic fungal infections (such asCandidaspecies).

In the present study, the efficacy of terbinafine was tested in a model ofspecies infection of the skin, nail, and scalp usingin vitrosusceptibility tests. Terbinafine was found to be effective in the infection of the skin and nail (

Chemicals andernoate
